Formerly known as Corramedical, Inc, the mission of Virchow Medical is to provide clinicians with the tools so that every solid tumor cancer patient has an opportunity to be treated with precision medicine oncologic therapy. The company pursues this mission with the novel approach of enabling the collecting of cells and cellular components that are otherwise wasted after biopsy procedures. We create novel proprietary collection products (the Crow’s Nest® Biopsy Catchment System, the Cell Wrangler TM Fine Needle Aspirate Conserver, and the MOOS TM Multi-Omic Octagonal Scavenger) to enable specimens to be made from what would have been wasted, and a novel Liquid Specimen Biorepository, the Virchow Vault, to store them and make them available for testing. We thereby enable physicians to make use of all the cellular resources extracted from biopsy patients.
Our products are for use after core needle biopsies, fine needle aspirate procedures, and solid tissue excisions. All are designed to provide the benefit of high-quality nucleic acid material from which to run molecular testing and thereby qualify patients for targeted therapy drugs. We take pride in effectively making something from nothing; channeling an unused biologic resource into life-changing outcomes for cancer patients.
We exist to prove that by using only what would have been medical waste, we can create a biorepository that gives oncologists an opportunity: To enable molecular testing for many cancer patients who otherwise would miss out on this important part of their care due to insufficient tissue specimens.
